You came into my life
after nine months
And maybe about 27 hours
of cross-eyed labor
And although I might just have exaggerated
that last number a bit
Unfortunately that day
I was stone cold sober.

For you became for me
at that moment
The reason for breathing,
and living this life with such grace
And although sometimes I just want to pull
my hair out by the roots
You make everything melt
with just one look of that face

You’ve got me wrapped around
your little finger
All the way from the top of my head
to the tips of my toes
And although sometimes you drive me bonkers
with the things that you do
That’s what having you has done to me –
