Daily Post: How My Week So Far

I wish I could think of how my week went so far, but because I capped my Saturday early morning with a viewing of Jonathan Glazer’s Under The Skin, that’s the only soundtrack I’m able to think of right now.  There are two of them.  The first one is Love – though I doubt this is the type of love you’d like to experience.

The there’s Death, when Scarlett Johannsen’s character, Laura, does the fatal seduction of her prey.  This is a horror flick after all…

Alright, so enough with horror.  Then there’s the soundtrack for the next character I’m writing.  It’s Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive:

And then Demons, also by Imagine Dragons:

And finally this, still staying in character because I need him to have a happy ending, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol:

The Playlist I Write To

Most songs that I like don’t usually play on pop radio stations.  I think it’s because my tastes lean more towards folk, alternative, acoustic and world music.

Inspired by the previous music post, I figured I’d share with you the songs that make up the current playlist that I write to, which inspires the story theme of the novel I’m currently working on.

Steve’s Music Mix: Fashion Victim

I keep forgetting to do this each Monday simply because Monday is just too early a start for the week after the weekend.  Maybe Tuesday would be better…

But anyway, Steve’s Music Mix for this week is called Fashion Victim – quite apropos considering all I wear is black.  And an occasional red and purple when I realize that I need to do a load of black in the laundry.

The rules are simple.  Put your music player on shuffle.  Say the questions out loud and press Play.  Whatever song title comes up is the answer to that burning question.

Ready?  Here goes.

How Do I Look Today?

Shake Señora (Pitbull)

My 2 cents:  Brings me back to Beetlejuice every time I hear this.  Shake, shake, shake Señora, indeed!

What Should I Wear Tonight?

Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. & Pharel)

My 2 cents:  I never heard this song in its entirety till 4 days ago and just added it to my playlist.  Because, you know, Michael…And don’t go all out on me because of its lyrics and whatnot.  I like the beat.  ’nuff said.  And again, Michael.

What Should I Wear Tomorrow?

Paper Planes by M.I.A.

My 2 cents:  Unfortunately, my playlist is not cooperating with me at all as far as the questions go, but this kinda works.  Clothes can be made from paper planes.  In my case though, it just might need to be a much bigger paper plane…

March Music Challenge

Put your iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on shuffle [I used the playlist on my BB].  For each question, press the next button to get your answer.  You must write that song title down no matter how silly it sounds! [or you can cheat like I did and use the song on your playlist that best suits the question.]
