Well, hello there! I’m Liz, the poet and blogger behind Morrighansmuse.com and author of eleven books ranging from women’s fiction to contemporary and erotic romance, as well as erotica under different pens. As of November 2020, it looks like I have written over 300 poems and maybe it’s about time I should compile them in a series of books? What do you think?
But I haven’t actually been this prolific. I stopped writing for almost ten years, finally returning in 2012, two years after my best friend lost her battle with ovarian cancer and after my son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
That’s when Morrighansmuse was born, a name derived from the Celtic deity of war that includes the three manifestations of woman – the maiden, the mother and the crone. Pretty intense stuff, I know, but I needed a reminder never to let anyone stop me from writing again. The “Muse” is, of course, the characters who populate my stories and poetry, the people who inspire me, break my heart, the ones who make me smile that secret smile when no one is looking. They’re the ones who pull me together inside when everything around me is falling apart.
While you’re here, don’t miss my Blogging A to Z challenge where I tackle Old Manila, Philippines. One of my all-time favorite challenges, it taught me so much about my home country and I still cannot believe the wealth of information within those posts that I need to read up on again and update five or so years later. There’s just so much to learn and pass on and I hope that others will realize that once upon a time, Old Manila was indeed the Pearl of the Orient just as it used to be called before the city was destroyed during its liberation from the Japanese during World War II.
