I’m a poet and an author of five novels. After not writing for almost ten years, I returned to writing via blogging my poetry here in 2012. Daily prompts saved my writer’s soul and brought me back to that “happy place” I’d always longed to return to. Even though my poetry seems dark at times, it’s my outlet and the only way I can express myself. Sometimes I work with written prompts; sometimes, photos – and sometimes I write poetry to get a feel of a scene I’m writing for a character so don’t request an intervention just yet!
From poems, I began writing short stories again and from those stories, novels. It certainly felt great to write novels again, though this time, I self-published them, and I couldn’t be happier. Since 2014, I’ve published four full-length novels and quite a few short stories, some of those stories you’ll find here. My latest book, Loving Riley, the sequel to Loving Ashe, is scheduled for release on April 26. If you’d like to check out my writing, I suggest you start with either Loving Ashe or Everything She Ever Wanted.
Among my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Harold Robbins (yes, that Harold Robbins from the 70’s, my first introduction to novels when I found three books hidden on the top shelf of the family library), J.K. Rowling, Frank McCourt, Anais Nin, John Ajvide Lindqvist (Let the Right One In), Michel Farber (Under the Skin), and Diana Gabaldon. There are so many others, but I’ll keep it to these for now.
