Clothes and toys, recipes and jokes, advice and prejudice: we all have to handle all sorts of hand-me-downs every day. Tell us about some of the meaningful hand-me-downs in your life.
So many regrets,
of a life long lived in fear
Too many desires
ignored till they disappeared
Life half lived, year after year
So you pass them on
Like they’re trinkets in a box
Regrets and old fears
Weighing us down like they’re rocks
As we push against the locks.
I love the graphic to this poem. Together, the reflection is so clear, the emotion palpable.
Thank you, Willy! I was running out of drawings to feature. Time to draw some more to capture the mood.
I hope you explore your art skills fully. I love the balance and symmetry in your lines and use of colors. It seems to have great appeal among old Centurions and wee dragons 🙂
I like how you applied a deeper meaning to this prompt, touching on fear and regrets. Very nice.
Thank you. I think fear and regret are easily passed on if we’re not careful. I know I see it with my mom at least – and I guess it’s one of those fears I have, too, that I’d do the same thing to my kids.
Yes, I agree. Then there’s the good side of fear and regret too. I often try to turn these feelings into positive advice for my sister.
