Sacred Space

An extra room has magically been added to your home overnight. The catch: if you add more than three items to it, it disappears. How do you use it?

A crystal, a zabuton, and a mat
that’s all I need in this sacred space
to step outside the track of life,
take time away from the race.
Breathe in goodness, think happy thoughts
lie in blissful savasana,
feel each muscle melt into space,
retreat into my own nirvana.
Three things I need and nothing more
in this sacred space I call my own,
close my eyes, block out the world,
sometimes it’s good to be alone

  1. I really like this poem–it makes me think. I especially like the ending beginning with, “Three things I need and nothing more…”

Got something to say? Spill the beans!
