In your imaginary award acceptance speech (yes, we know you have one), who’s the very last — and most important — person you thank?
…and last but not least, I want to thank the muse,
you know who you are –
for whenever the mood strikes me you’re there
giving me what I need, no matter how bizarre.
You’re there with me in the morning,
long before the sun rises,
you stay with me till the evening –
you with your many disguises
You come whenever I call,
no matter what the hour,
you stay with me till darkness claims me,
you never give in, you never cower
from whatever I subject you to,
whatever I desire
you’re the muse who keeps the light alight,
you keep my soul forever on fire.
I love this response to the prompt. Very creative and something that is, indeed, valuable to all who write.
Thanks! Without my muse, I’d definitely be lost 🙂
🙂 We all would.
Nice exercise!
