a full moon shines again tonight,
and I’m afraid of what she will bring me
unexpected tidings of hopeless love,
the promise of what could never be
it’s shown me the place
where pleasure and pain can belong together.
and tonight, it’s led me once again
to where my tears can find no cover
in the flimsy shelter of secret memories
where the past we shared should now be left alone
where the raw honesty of the words you speak
chills me to the bone
a fool’s moon shines brightly tonight
hanging over me like a hangman’s noose,
waiting to snare me in its spell one last time,
for she knows I no longer have you to lose

So beautiful Morrighan’s Muse! I loved these lines – “And tonight, it’s led me once again to where my tears / can find no cover / In the flimsy shelter of secret memories” – so beautiful and poignant.
Thank you 🙂
