Multiple Sclerosis versus Fibromyalgia–What a pain in the neck…arm, leg…

On another blog I follow, some friends have been sympathetic to one our own who is suffering from a bout of Fibromyalgia.  There are a lot of people out there who don’t know the difference between what I have, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and what she has, Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS).

MS and FMS share many symptoms. For instance, people with fibromyalgia have been found to be between two and seven times more likely to have one or more of the following conditions/symptoms:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • headache
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • systemic lupus erythematosus
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • pain

Sound familiar to anyone out there with MS? Certainly, many of  us with multiple sclerosis also experience the following symptoms:
