Tell us about the last thing you got excited about — butterflies-in-the-stomach, giggling, can’t-wait excited.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us EXCITEMENT.
Nothing here excites me anymore
as much as seeing your sweet smile
When it reaches your blue eyes
sparkling with such delight
So much to offer
Much more to give
Keep looking
at me –
live.
A nonet is a 9 line poem which starts with 9 syllables in its first line, 8 in the second, 7 in the third, till the ninth line is left with one.
A lovely poem, beautifully written.
Thank you, Dr Ali! I wish I could write happier poems but melancholic ones are my default 🙂
That’s beautiful! In the post peek that wordress offers, you can only see “nothing excites me…” and that was very sad. So happy I read all the way through 😉
So glad you read through the end 🙂
You ad me both, because I was just about to stage an intervention 😉
LOL 🙂
Gosh, I love your beautiful poem.
I chanced upon your blog while surfing through other RA fansites. The Lucas picture goes perfectly with the nonet. The natural choice would be to pick a smiling RA pic but the heartbreaking context of that screen cap turns the last line into a poignant plea. Err…am I off-track? (Btw, I love sad poems, too.)
Would it be ok if I share your poem (with this pic) on Tumblr? Or have you posted this there already?
I promise to credit you and to link back to this site. 🙂
Thank you! I’m glad you liked the poem and got the connection 🙂
I’d be honored if you did share this poem on Tumblr. Thank you 🙂
Oh, thank you! I’m off to post it now! 🙂
*sigh*
Beautiful, poignant poem. And oh, that picture!
Thank you 🙂
