Daily Prompt: Playlist of the Week

Tell us how your week went by putting together a playlist of  five songs that represent it.

  1. Personal Jesus – Depeche Mode
While hanging out on Twitter this week, I caught up with Richard Armitage’s twitter session by the second hour onwards and someone asked the question regarding which one of Depeche Mode’s songs he mostly identified with the roles he’s played.  While he answered “Master and Servant” it brought me back to my own favorite songs by Depeche Mode, and undeniably it’s “Personal Jesus.”  It brings back memories of my teen years hanging out with my brothers and cousins and how we’d all bop our heads to the music and just have fun.  I always play this full blast in the car!
  2. Heartbeats – Jose Gonzalez
I love this version so much, I wrote my first Lucas North story based on it and it got me really writing – fer reals, this time.
  3. Fix You – Coldplay
This week, while my father was undergoing an angioplasty, and just a week earlier had called on a priest because he said he was ready to call it a day and give up, this was the song that finally, after holding it all in for so long, made me cry.  This is also one that gets my writing juices flowing…(Fanvid below is by Heathra)
  4. Cello Song – The Piano Guys
  5. Nothing Else Matters – Apocalyptica
Just listen to it and feel the emotions go through you.  ’nuff said.

  1. I’m a big Depeche Mode fan, too. Personal Jesus would be close to the top of my list, competing with Blasphemous Rumors.

I'd love to hear what you think!
